This Week at HMS

Reminder: First thing tomorrow morning (Friday, Oct. 25) Jostens will be here for picture retakes. Any student who missed the first picture day or needs a retake will be called down. Please try to avoid wearing green for the picture due to the backdrop.

This Week at HMS. An HMS 8th grade student was diagnosed with brain tumors last week and will be having surgery on Tuesday, October 21 in St. Louis. To help his family with expenses, HMS will be accepting donations this week. We will also be collecting at the HMS boys' basketball game on Tuesday. Please send money with your child if you are interested in donating.

HMS students are having a blast at the dance tonight! Reminder that it ends in 25 minutes. Ask them about their favorite part of the dance. See you soon!

There will be a meeting on Monday, October 21 at 6:00 pm at BELA (Pre-K building across from HMS) for the parents/caregivers of this year's 8th grade students. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss fundraising ideas for the after promotion party. If you are interested in helping plan and fundraise for the party, please attend.

The first dance is Thursday, October 17. 8th grade parents are in charge of the concession and they are requesting that 8th grade students bring a 12 pack of soda, Little Debbie snack cakes, or small bags of chips to school tomorrow to donate for the concession. If you are unable to do that on short notice, you may also send monetary donations to help order pizzas. All proceeds from the concession go to the 8th grade graduation party hosted by the 8th grade parents.

HMS will have Parent/Teacher Conferences on Tuesday, October 15 from 3:30 - 6:00 pm in the HMS gym. Enter through the front doors where students are dropped off/picked up (under the awning). Due to student dismissal/pickup, please do not enter the building before 3:15 pm. No conferences will begin before 3:30 pm. To allow all parents time to meet with teachers, please limit the time you spend with each teacher. Midterm reports and IAR/ISA scores from last year will be handed out as you enter. If you are unable to see the image, it is posted on our Facebook page. We look forward to seeing you.

Students should wear their House t-shirts tomorrow (10/10). All 6th grade students and any other student who purchased a new House t-shirt will receive that shirt tomorrow morning. Also, there will be a concession with drinks tomorrow afternoon during our House Competition. Bring your money!
