REMINDER: Tomorrow is the last day to pay for insurance for student Chromebooks. The cost is $30 and checks are payable to Harrisburg CUSD#3. Without this insurance, any damage or issues with the Chromebooks will be your responsibility. This coverage must be purchased yearly. Contact your child's school if you have any questions.

Parents of West Side students,
We have had our main HVAC unit at West Side School go out. These repairs will take at least the weekend. Due to this event, West Side school will be closed tomorrow Friday August 28th. TEACHERS/STAFF SHOULD REPORT AS USUAL.

Attention 1st Grade Parents:
Starting Monday August 23rd, Pre-K will be in attendance. Their dismissal time during early dismissal through Labor Day is at 1:30 at the front of the building on Lincoln St. (the same dismissal location as 1st grade). If you are picking-up a first grade student, please DO NOT line up in front of the building until your pick-up time at 1:40 when Pre-K parents are clear of the area. This will help prevent traffic congestion and longer pick-up times. It would be best to start the 1st grade line behind the Ledford St. crossing on Lincoln St. (the block before the school). We will have signs and cones out to assist with this process. All pick-up lines should be single-file lines. Please bear with us as we try to make dismissal as smooth as possible. This will hopefully get smoother as the year progresses. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
REMINDERS for the upcoming week:
West Side will be holding an open house opportunity for first and second grade students on Tuesday, August 17th from 4-6pm. Students will have the opportunity to meet their teacher and bring school supplies.
Kindergarten students will have specific appointments made to meet their teacher and visit their classroom. The kindergarten teachers will be in contact with you.
School begins for first and second graders on Wednesday, August 18th. Student drop-off begins no earlier than 7:30am using door #5 on McKinley St. and the tardy bell will ring at 8:10am.
Harrisburg schools will be on 2:00pm dismissal through Labor Day. For this schedule, kindergarten will dismiss at 1:30pm through door #5 on McKinley Street, first grade will dismiss at 1:40pm through door #2 on Lincoln Street, and second grade will dismiss at 1:40pm through door #7 on Ledford Street. Please DO NOT line-up prior to these dismissal times as it creates traffic congestion issues.
We ask that parents do not come into the building with their child(ren). If you need to come into our school for any reason, please stop by the office.

Jump Start Kindergarten Families!!
We are beyond excited!!! I have enjoyed speaking to and registering many of you for the program!! Monday 7/19/21 will be the first day. We will welcome students starting at 8 AM at West Side. Parents who are dropping off their students will do so on the McKinley Street side of the building. We will have signs up to help guide you for pick up and drop off!
If you have paperwork that needs to be filled out, please park in a parking space and enter the building through the front doors. You will meet Celia, in the front office who will help you with any paperwork.
For this program it is NOT required that you send any school supplies. You will send school supplies on the official first day of Kindergarten. Supplies are provided for your students to use in the program. Students should come with a backpack (please have your students name clearly visible on the backpack) and labeled spare set of clothing (in case we get messy!!!).
Families will be getting phone calls with pick up and drop off times from the bus company, if you have indicated your student needs transportation.
